Payment is due at the time you accept a commission quote and sign off on the agreed design. The estimated completion date of your commission is based on you having paid the invoice in full by the requested date.
A delay in payment will unfortunately delay the completion date, as I will not begin work until the invoice is paid.
Signing off artwork
For all commission artwork I supply an initial sketch for approval by you. Please ensure you check this carefully and are happy with it (especially check spelling of names, dates etc.) before signing off, as I will use this as the basis of the final piece. I’m happy to offer up to 2 revised sketches at no extra charge (i.e. included in the price of the quote).
Anything beyond this will be charged at £7 per hour on top of the original quote. All sketches/designs (including the finished artwork) remain under copyright to Lindsey Hills.
Once the final piece has been made, any changes requested will incur a further charge.
Please note, you are not permitted to share these preliminary sketches, or use them to commission artwork from another artist designer with out my express permission in writing.
I’m afraid that I currently only ship to addresses within the UK.
All framed artworks are shipped via Royal Mail Special Delivery and will need to be signed for on receipt. This is a tracked service and also the only service that currently insures glass.
If you live nearby and would like to collect your item from my studio to save delivery costs, then I’m happy for you to do so.
Damage in Transit
I ensure all artworks are packaged well and securely in special padded boxes to prevent damage in transit, but unfortunately sometimes this is out of my control.
If you find your artwork has been damaged in transit, please contact me within 48 hours stating the damage that has occurred. I will require photographic evidence of the damage to claim insurance from the delivery company. After 48 hours, I am unable to make a claim from the courier so will be unable to offer a replacement.
If you notify me and supply the necessary photographic evidence needed to make a claim within 48 hours, I will ask for you to return the artwork (at cost to myself).
Once I have received the item back, I will replace it as soon as possible.
Returns and refunds
I don’t accept returns or issue refunds for any commissioned artworks in accordance with the distance selling regulations.
For more information on these regulations please go to https://www.gov.uk/accepting-returns-and-giving-refunds
